Peking Glass and Kingfisher Feathers

What an heady combination! Several years ago I scored this cache of old stock beads which were decorated with tiny snips of bright blue Kingfisher feathers. The mix of old metal, glass and feathers is music to my eyes, singing of old Chinese jewelry. After decades in storage, the feathers are falling off, so I am regluing and sealing them for protection. String bookmarks are in the making. Stay tuned for a photos of the finished work.

I bought a pair of these in San Francisco's Chinatown way back in the early 50's...all the kingfisher bits have fallen off...i paid about $5 for them which was rather a lot then, all i could afford...can't find kingfisher feathers anywhere online now, but some individual feathers were still available years ago (should have bought one then). i hate that these birds are hunted for this purpose but oh, that jewelry is to die for. If you should have any kingfisher bits left over, would you email me? thanks, and all best! Fru, will try to send you a photo but mine look exactly like yours, except the beads are a beautiful turquoise.

Hi Fru Teston, I would like to email you but there's no way to contact you. Please email me offline. I have a few feather bits left. I don't know how many you'll need...
